The username can be defined via a named or an unnamed parameter, i.e.

Examples

In cases of usernames which contain = sign, the former syntax should be used, e.g.
{{User|User=Billbailey=legend}}→ User-multi error: package.lua:80: module 'Module:Toolbar' not found.
Parameters
- User is a required parameter, e.g.
|User=Jimbo Wales - Project defines a Wikimedia sister project to be used instead of the English Wikipedia, the correct code for the interlanguage or interwiki link should be used, e.g.
|Project=simple - separator defines the symbol used to separate different links, e.g.
|separator=pipe. The default is a dot.
